The Sugarloaf Adopt-A-Crag is part of a national series of clean up efforts focused on enhancing and preserving our public spaces which we recreate. The Sugarloaf event will focus on invasive species removal, hauling down trash, erosion mitigation, graffiti removal, as well as making the park more user friendly and sustainable. If you participate in outdoor recreation (hiking, biking, climbing, birdwatching, etc) it’s important that we invest in our public lands and work with our local land managers to help ensure that these spaces will remain open for future generations.
This event is sponsored by the City of Winona, The Recreation Alliance of Winona, Access Fund, Minnesota Climbers Association, Front Porch Management, as well as the WSU Outdoor Education & Recreation Center.
Please come and help make our public spaces better and have a ton of fun! There will be climbing after (weather permitting) as well as food, bonfire and possibly an outdoor film as well! Also, free camping for all volunteers!
We will tackle erosion mitigation, invasive species removal, graffiti removal, and high angle trash pick clean up. Meeting at the Sugarloaf trailhead on E Lake Blvd. Please car pool.
